World Thinking Day is a celebration of ten million girls worldwide that has taken place on every 22 February since 1926. It remains a day for all Guides and Girl Scouts to think of each other and celebrate their sisters all around the world. So girls could show their appreciation on Thinking Day by offering gifts to our international Movement by fundraising or making a donation.



History Of World Thinking
Day !!
In 1926, Girl Guide and Girl Scout delegates from around the globe met in the USA for the 4th World Conference , Much later in 1999, at the 30th World Conference in Dublin, Ireland, delegates from around the world decided to change the name of the day from Thinking Day to World Thinking Day, to better emphasise the international aspects of the day.
The fundraising aspect of World Thinking Day that began in 1932 is still an important funding mechanism for WAGGGS today, and it helps to keep the Movement going .


World Thinking Day Award !!

The World Thinking Day award is now an official Award ,  the front of the official uniform. Girls can earn this award at any time and can do so by completing activities in the World Thinking Day Activity Packet. World Thinking Day will be celebrated so that girls around the world will think of each other in a gesture Award  international friendship .

World Thinking Day Timeline !!

*US President Franklin D. Roosevelt meets with a group of Girl Scouts who offer a list of documented service hours given in support of the efforts for World War .

*The World Association of Girl Scouts records that over 10 million girls participate in the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 152 countries. Delegates are invited to connect and meet up at five different World Centers .



How to Celebrate Thinking Day !!

Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to choose how they want to mark and celebrate this momentous occasion .To celebrate this important day by holding public events such as bake sales and sports days, others .This is a popular way that certain packs to celebrate Thinking Day, with the time spent at sunrise dedicated to focusing on the theme set for the year.



Thinking Day Is One Of The Most Important Day !!

Thinking Day is one of the most important days in the Girl Guiding calendar, with the theme of the event encouraging members of the movement to think about the bigger issues impacting themselves and the communities around them, as well as communities situated across the globe.



World Thinking Day Raising  Funds !!

Later in 1932, a Belgian delegate suggested that girls could raise funds, World thinking Day Fund for the organization, and show their thanks. Accepting this suggestion Lord Baden-Powell wrote a letter to all guides and girl scouts worldwide asking them to donate a penny since a penny was enough for a loaf of bread in those days. Girl scouts and guides might celebrate this day by holding events such as bake sales and sports days. Support them by making appropriate contributions.
